  1. Mike, It was my pleasure being one of your authors for almost twenty years. You created a wonderful site. Your talent will me missed. Rest in Peace. John Lloyd aka Seth Newman
  2. A short story for your late summer reading. The story of the Naked Gardener starts with a terrible accident that leads the cute, athletic victim into rehab. His recovery is slow but motivated by his grandmother's garden. His physical therapist helps him garden/ They like to garden naked. Their relationship expands when the teenager next door discovers them gardening. I hope you enjoy.
  3. A new story entitled 'The Last Dance will be uploaded. I recently finished the short story inspired by events occurring at the 2018 Gay Games in Paris, France. The games take place in August, 2018. The story involves two couples who are competing in the international and Latin dance competition. If you read the story let me know what you think at rawlingbros@gmail. com.
  4. Dear Chris, Sorry I have been so slow to thank you for your nice comments about Searching For Him. I have another story called Jumping Into the Quarry that is currently being uploaded each week. Thought you might be interested.
  5. My newest story “Searching for Him – An Englishman’s Queer Odyssey” chronicles a young English boy’s first trip to America in 1894. The first chapter will appear soon. Michael discovers more than the marvels of the United States with his cousin, Robbie, and his beloved grandmother as they travel to the Columbian World Exposition and a ranch in Colorado. He meets his first love, a cowboy, and his life is changed forever. The story chronicles his search for a loving, life partner starting in the Victorian age.
  6. Sadly my editor/proofreader Al from CT is not physically able to proof read my recently completed novel. I would appreciate anyone willing to take a shot at this. The book has been published in an earlier form but I have rewritten it like I originally intended. It is now a gay-themed, historic novel that took place in the USA on a circus. Look forward to hearing from anyone who would like to help. Email me at rawlingbros@gmail.com. Thanks
  7. The lives of most gay people even in years past has been ordinary and quiet. Your suggestion of a historic backdrop for a gay story is a challenge as the writer above has suggested. In the fall of 2010 I hope to publish on AwesomeDude my second novel that has its gay beginning the trenches of France during WWI. But the research required to get the setting correct is a challenge. I pride myself when writing gay fiction set in times past to get the setting accurate. To most people it would not matter whether the story started near Verdun, France in 1916 or later 1917. But if I wrote about two young American soliders the story could only take place toward the end of the war because we did not have American troops in France until near the end of the war. As I say most people reading the story would not know but I would know. In the next few weeks watch for an essay called "All the Beautiful Men" and a short story entitled "The Photograph" which revolve around the life of a famous gay photographer named George Platt Lynes and a very famous photograph that he took. The picture that accompanies the story was taken in 1938 but not seen publically until the late 1950's after the photographers death. The story represents the kind of censorship that gay men and women endured under the regime of one the most famous gay gay haters - J. Edgar Hoover. I wish I had the time to research the relationship between Mr. Hoover and Mr. Clyde Tollan, his companion for many years. I am sure those records are buried so deep they many never come to the fore. Enough except to say to Graeme that I found the movie "The Reader" absolutely fascinating. I hope someone does a story about real stories of gays during WWII that is not only about their persecution but also their heroics and gallantry. Maybe all gays were too frightened to be heroes but I suspect not.
  8. To All, I write gay fiction that is story based not only gratuitous sex. Anyone interested in lending their eyes and brain to help me strengthen this story I would appreciate it. Fifteen chapters of probably eighteen already completed. Caribbean_novel_Chapter_1_2_.doc
