One little puzzle: When does this take place? In Chapter 2 of "Cover and Book", North has an iPhone. The first iPhone was released on June 29, 2007, providing a terminus post quem for the story. Since in "The Book of Samuel", North has a 14-year-old son, does this mean that the story takes place after 2020?
