  1. The thing is when I am on call, I can't write. I can though sit and read.
  2. I would definitely recommend Outside the Foul Lines by Rick Beck.
  3. I'm still working on it. Have about ten chapters left to write, but they are probably going to be the most difficult.
  4. This is the second book in the Long Con series. I am praying that there are more to come. You really should not like they characters, they are a group of thieves, con-men and mercenaries, but you cannot help falling in love with them and their Robin Hood attitude to life. In this book she takes the characters we got to know in The Mastermind forward, to a new adventure, helping out an elderly dance master. I don't intend to give any of the plot away. There are times when I feel that there is something seriously odd about Amy Lane's writing. I have come to the opinion that when she sitting there doing her knitting, actually what she is doing is forming knot spells to imbued her writing. Have been held by a serious fascination spell all day today as I read The Muscle, the second book in the Long Con series. Started it shortly after nine and finished it at nineteen twenty. A fantastic book, well written which will fascinate you from the start to the end. You have been warned. This book must be imbued with the fascination spell she generated during her knitting. Can't wait for the hardcopy version to come out, I intend to get it to join the hardcopy version of The Mastermind on my shelf, though I will probably continue to read them on my Kindle. If you have not read The Mastermind I suggest you do, before you read The Muscle. Whatever you do read them. They are well worth it.
  5. I have heard several boy trebles sing this, but this is without doubt the best I've heard.
  6. Just looked at a list of dangerous birds. Emus came in at number two, immediately behind their cousins, the cassowary.
  7. I am still working on things. Had a bit of a technical hitch which prevented me from being able to write for a few weeks, but I am still working on Being Johnny. Now on the final stretch. Book 2 ends at Halloween and I am now writing about July so I only have three months more to cover. Though a lot can happen in three months, especially with Johnny's family.
  8. What do you mean 'if you were a vampire.' Don't try to hide your true nature, we can all see you liking your lips.
  9. Luckily I totally missed it, then again I have never really seen the point of football. I can think of much better ball games to play with 22 men.
  10. A short story of about a diamond cutter, set in Nazi occupied Amsterdam in the final days of the war.
  11. Sorry Bruin, but evolution has been proven and scientifically demonstrated. What has not been proved and almost certainly cannot be proved is Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection. Although there is massive evidence to support it, there is no experiment that can be done to prove it.
  12. Rutabaga, about half of those are answered in book 2, the rest you will have to wait for book 3.
  13. Came across this on YouTube whilst looking for something else. Well worth watching, though it is over an hour long.
  14. I have told my editor that I will be letting him have copy to start work on during the first week of August, so given how long I expect the editing to take, based on the first book, I think you are looking at Christmas to see book two coming out. At the moment I am about half-way through writing chapter 37. That should mean I am about half-way through the story. Unfortunately, I only seem to be about a third of the way. So it is either going to be a lot longer than expected or I am going to have to speed things up.
  15. Please, please can we have a special import of Golden Gaytime to the UK. I will even break my strict doctor ordered diet to indulge in some. This name has got to be kept. It is just too gay to ignore. There is a chapter set in Australia in book two of the Johnny series. I am definitely going to write in some mention of Golden Gaytime.
  16. Yes, just. The total number of characters in book one is 105.
  17. Especially in a convertible with the top down.
  18. When I was living in the Netherlands my mobile phone was referred to as a Handi, the same term was in use in Germany.
  19. I believe the correct adjective is Trouble with a capital T.
  20. I ordered this book from Amazon on pre-print sometime last year, then forgot all about it. It arrived yesterday and I started to read it this morning. I'm hooked. This is Amy Lane at far more than her best. Her writing has developed an extra dimension which traps you into a story, her characters come alive and grab you. It is a story about love, responsibility and devotion, it is also a story of a couple of con men who get trapped by the consequences of their own con.
  21. Of course it's going to be good, it's by Nicholas Hall, even the stuff of his I don't like, which is not much, is good. This story is great. So far I would class it amongst his best writing.
