  1. Moving a web site and dealing with DNS changes seems to always be a PIA. One thing I finely learned to help the process if you have enough control of your DNS is a couple of weeks in advance of the move set the time to live to like 5 minutes rather than 1 or 2 days. Still not every place that caches DNS honors these request, but in general it does help. After the move is complete then you can set the time to live to a couple of days. When I first got the DNS name not found message I was worried that you were going away. Very glad that was not the case.
  2. Unfortunately I have the same problem with serialized stories. So I am waiting for it to be finished so that I read it in it's entirety. I know it will be worth the wait because I just don't find bad stories here by this group of excellent authors. Twenty years ago I could read a dozen or more serialized stories and have no trouble keeping up with them. Now then I have to limit it to a few at a time and the others just wait for that magical "Complete" marker.
  3. I think you writers are often too much like English teachers, you over analyze everything. I read the story and I thoroughly enjoyed the story. Whether Mason should have killed the rapist to start with or not is immaterial, no one knows how others will react to a situation. Most people don't really know how they will react until given situation occurs. I think that Cole has done an excellent job in portraying Mason and the thought process that he went through. It just gives the reader a better insight into the character of Mason. I will never forget a freshmen English class where we were a assigned a story to read and then discussed it in class. When the professor gave his interpretation of the story, the only thing that I thought was "You have got to be shitting me". I think most stories are written for the pleasure of both the writer and the reader and rarely contain some deep hidden meaning. I always enjoy reading Cole's stories and this was no exception. It was very well done. I have no doubt that of all the characters in the story that Mason and his integrity were head and shoulders over all of the rest.
  4. We read them because they are generally very well written and certainly entertaining. Most of them are written to show gay people as somewhat normal and usually of good character. Most of the situations are realistic and something that many of us have faced in the past. Not only are they enjoyable but they often make me think of what would I do in a similar situation. Although I am getting close to retirement (not quite close enough) I don't think you ever get too old to learn something. A lot of the situations make me think of how I respond to my partner and often give me insights into perhaps a better response to a situation. With the Harry Potter books there were plots and sub plots. There were somethings that I suspect younger readers missed and at the same time probably some things that we older readers missed as well. That doesn't mean that they were not totally enjoyable for a multitude of ages. I have read a large majority of the works by the authors who post here. Regardless of there targeted audience I have thoroughly enjoyed reading them.
