  1. brit18uk you summed it up perfectly.
  2. I've just been listening to Peter, Paul and Mary on AD Weekend Radio. I can't believe the memories it brings back. I was in high school and university during that time. Life was good, full of dreams, hopes, ideals. They made a difference and influenced millions. I am so sad to know Mary is no longer with us. My condolences to you Dude and everyone who loved, heard, and repected her.
  3. I enjoyed the Podcast as well. It was thoroughly entertaining and so many sexy voices?OMG. I agree longer would be better, but we all know, it?s quality not size that counts. I especially appreciated Blue?s tribute to Codey and Codey?s World and Elton?s tribute to Matt Shepard. Both brought tears to my eyes. But it was the final moment that had the tears flowing. Dude, you created a truly special moment for Tim and Codey and for that alone, you are totally awesome.
  4. I think we all miss our resident raccoon. I know I do.
  5. This has probably been discussed here before in another thread, but I haven't found it. If it has, maybe someone can just point me to it. If not maybe someone can enlighten me. I found this quote somewhere and it brings up a question that I have never been able to answer adequately for myself. ?War, Rape, Child Abuse, Murder, Pedophilia, Poverty, Equal rights for gays. Guess which one the Southern Baptist Convention is protesting?? -The Value of Families. Maybe one of you can give me some insight into why being gay is such a big issue? What makes homosexuality or better yet, homophobia, so damned important when there is so much other crap going on? I just don't get it.
  6. This gets so tiring after a while. So should I feel powerful because I can cause a tornado? Or should I feel pissed off because another half-witted homophobic asshole is blaming me for something else I had nothing to do with? I think pissed off. Hell yeah. How many kids are going to die because of the hate generated by assholes like him. Can you imagine being a young teen in his congregation or one like his, and coming to the realization that you're gay? These guys are getting away with murder because their hatred leads others to commit bashings, murders and suicide. And it's perfectly legal and within their rights. Is somebody ever going to wake up and stop them?
  7. Very interesting. All of the links are available in Canada, two in the Philadelphia area, one in the UK. But none of them are available in California or South Australia. Mmmmmm. I think you?re right Des. It?s got to be the aliens. I?m not sure they?re homophobic though, since all the aliens I?ve met are hermaphroditic. Oh, and I should mention, they deny having anything to do with his hair. Apparently, they are violently allergic to hairspray. So why isolate two areas of the globe? Just my humble opinion of course, and they won?t admit it, but I think they may simply be trying to isolate California and Australia from the real world before they begin their take-over.
  8. Both links still work for me right now, but maybe not for much longer. (Mine and Camy's) And thanks for finding that site Camy. As for the hair and rain...I think he used the wind and the rain to style his hair. It's cheaper than paying a hairstylist. And, it will rain inside if you open the sunroof.
  9. You have no idea how happy I am for you and David right now. It's scary, but a good kind of scary. Dustin is a very lucky boy to have the two of you in his life. All my love to all three of you. Grant
  10. Bummer. Since you can't watch it, the video shows 4 couples on dates. Two of the couples are, of course, guy-girl. But the third couple is two girls and the fourth is two guys. Both are obviously couples in love. I just think it's cool he would depict two gay couples in his video. Not many performers would be daring enough to do that, especially when they are just starting out and it's their first released single.
  11. The first video is Theo doing Apologize during the Canadian Idol contest. His comment right at the end is very interesting. What is even more interesting though, is that it didn't result in a string of hostile comments or any type of backlash and he won CI. The second video is the official video for his first single, Lazy Lovers. Even if you don?t like the song, see it through and pay attention to the couples depicted in the video. Very cool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMPPLQufTr0...feature=related
  12. Does that mean it's a good thing I only believe half of what I read and, at my age, forget most of it within an hour?
  13. I admire both of you for being willing to put yourselves 'out there' for these kids. From my experience, most of them are where they are because no one in their lives cared. It probably won't be easy at first but I know you and David will make a difference. Once they know you are 'for real' and that you actually do care about them, I'm sure you will see some remarkable changes. I did with the kids I cared for over the years. I even learned a few things from them as well--like my 455 Trans Am could do 267 kph or about 167 mph, but that's another story. I really wish you all the best, but I know you and David will work wonders in turning their lives around.
  14. WOW! I haven't heard professionals that sounded better. Thanks for that Richard.
  15. So much for my 'I refuse to grow up' fantasy. Thanks.
  16. I posted this a while ago on Codey's World. I thought some of you might appreciate it. The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid term. The answer by one student was so 'profound' that the professor shared it with colleagues, via the Internet, which is, of course, why we now have the pleasure of enjoying it as well : Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)? Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant. One student, however, wrote the following: First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving. As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially. Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added. This gives two possibilities: 1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose. 2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over. So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, 'It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you,' and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over. The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct......leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting 'Oh my God.' THIS STUDENT RECEIVED AN A+. (And it was WELL DESERVED!!!)
  17. That was such a wonderfully moving story. It brought tears to my eyes. Good tears. Thanks for brightening my day James. Grant
  18. Great story, great premise, which is normal from Graeme. But this story has kept my anxiety level up for far too long. I want to know how it ends. Just a few more days. Thanks Graeme.
  19. The title scared me so I waited until there were several chapters out before I started reading. An awesome story. But what else? Anything Ron writes is awesome.
  20. I just found this forum, thanks to Colin. Thanks for posting this and Stand By Me, Bart. I appreciate it. Thanks Oliver. I don't imagine you get too many blizzards over there.
  21. Thanks for the kind remarks guys. They're appreciated.
