We most certainly do. It was a remarkable film for its time and is still a remarkable film today. We also owe a debt to Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington for there roles in the film, both were advised not to play the parts because the film was about a gay man with AIDS, yet both took on the roles. Demme both produced and directed the film which went on to deservedly win Best Actor for Hanks, Best Original Song and Best Screenplay at the Oscars. Link to comment
