R I didn't know either, but you prompted me to investigate. Now whilst I am not one to be overly concerned about labelling things; I think this story and perhaps a lot of my writing, certainly short stories, fits this definition: Autoethnography is a form of qualitative research in which an author uses self-reflection and writing to explore their personal experience and connect this autobiographical story to wider cultural, political, and social meanings and understandings. Autoethnography is a self-reflective form of writing... One type of Autoethnography that fits is: evocative autoethnographers focus on narrative presentations that open up conversations and evoke emotional responses. And that was my intention, perhaps more simply described as "reflections on life." Link to comment
