The King's Race by Cole Parker (Short Story)

Recommended Posts

I am mindful of a quote attributed to Sir Robert Baden-Powell: "A Scout is never taken by surprise. He always knows just what to do when the unexpected happens." This beautiful short story brings out the meaning of that comment quite beautifully - and somewhat unexpectedly. Well done!

The last paragraph in The King's Race is one of the funniest I've ever read.

If you haven't read this story yet, go read it. THEN, and ONLY THEN, read the spoiler.
