Baxter has been waiting fifteen months for someone interested in fostering or adopting him. The problem? He answered 'Yes' to a question when he entered the foster care system. But the Sand Was Warm A Short Story by Grant Bentley. This is about some sweet kids, meeting each other, getting together, a bit of bullying, making friends, and the lack of sleepovers.
