Interesting. Wish I had the money and time to go there. It looks to be a whole lot of fun, although one thing disturbs me a bit, and that's listing 'OUTINGS' as a specific event. Most of us try to keep it rather low key.

Hi Trab, you will be pleased to know that "Outings" refers to going out to enjoy a walk, or a visit as a group to various festival type places such as a picnic. It certainly does not mean outing anyone.

I don't think our resident gay thought police officer would give her approval to that other kind of "outing". :icon1:

I certainly would not approve of it unless I was under attack from such a person and even then I would have to weigh up the situation very carefully. :icon1:

I think I 'got you last' on that one Des. :icon1: (Reference to Foley Mashburn series). You didn't really think I hadn't followed the links and knew that already, did you?

I am impressed!

Not too often I get caught like that. :icon1:

Well that's what I get for trying to sell the Festival. :icon1:

That is so funny. :icon1:

Err. I may be leaving myself open for further attacks but what was the "Foley Mashburn series"? :icon1:

The Foley Mashburn series is a set of stories by Brew Maxwell, and it is awesome. The over-riding theme is how one can be gay and yet perfectly normal in behavior, love other guys but as friends and brothers, and be accepting of everyone. Obviously that is WAY too simple an explanation, and if you haven't read them, I'd recommend highly that you do so.* Several of the authors here have mentioned that the stories were pivotal to their own acceptance of themselves as gay men.

This is the place I download each segment.

Des, you may start to read them shortly, but take my word for it, you won't read them shortly. Each section is massive, running into the hundreds of pages. It is a worthwhile adventure, but if you are not careful you won't get any sleep at all: just read, read, and more read. I've had to deliberately stop printing out more than 2 chapters at a time, or I'd end up reading through the night. (I had the same problem [if you want to call loving a story a problem] with Graeme's Falls Creek, and Jamie's Scrolls, and WBMS's Alone By Myself. Others have captured my heart too, but some are just simply not put-downable [not to be confused with down-putable].)

Trab, it is certainly not going to be a "quick read". :icon1:

Actually comes at a good time as some of the stories I have been reading are slow in updating recently and good new ones are getting harder to find.

Thanks for the links.

"down-putable" I love that. :icon1:
