Tragic Rabbit
You Don?t Want To Be a Sissy By TR You don?t want to be a sissy, You?re better off in camouflage; Sissies don?t get asked out a lot Though they do get cast in La Cage. You don?t want to be a sissy, Str8 acting is the ideal mate; You?re better off a hairy mensch For sissies have a lonely fate. Some think they should be deported To some far, mythic swishy land, Others think they?re fun at parties Where sissies might be in demand. Sissies ?man? the Pride float parades But otherwise they?re kept at bay- Too queer, too femme, not man enough- Just too damn obviously gay. You don?t want to be a sissy But you might want to wear a star, So when with a girl on your arm You are still seen for what you are. Doing girls doesn?t make you str8 Nor the garage make you a car; But true sissies are most admired At a distance and from afar. Do you want to be a target For all the jerks and stupid jokes? Do you want to spend nights alone When your ?boyfriend? visits his folks? Macho men are the gay ideal Else, why spend hours in the gym, Str8 acting means your voice is heard Before the guy who?s swish and slim. You might fall in love with sissies- I can?t blame you; I do myself- But most would rather be seen with A man more manly than himself. No, sissies don?t get any perks And few gay men want to be one: Tolerated but not esteemed Though in the nights, they are more fun. The truth isn?t like externals For macho men aren?t keen to top, But get a sissy in the sheets And you?ll be begging him to stop. Of all the shades of being gay You get least dick if you?re prissy, Str8 acting is the easy role It takes balls to be a sissy. * Quote Link to comment
Jason Rimbaud
Hey Tr, Great rebuttable! (probably mis-spelled, sorry) As usual, I reach for my dictionary to look up certain words but, I like learning new words. And I know I'm a bit slow, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to say La Cage, because the way I say it, it doesn't rhyme with camouflage. And the only definition I can find, La Cage is the partial title of a French film. I don't understand this reference, though I can assume the interpretation. Do you care to explain TR? Please As for this line Of all the shades of being gayYou get least dick if you?re prissy, Str8 acting is the easy role It takes balls to be a sissy. This made me laugh. I like this one. Jason R. Please It's common shorthand for La Cage Aux Folles a great play and French film series about a gay couple. 'La Cage' is pronounced LA Kaazsh...I'm not sure how to write it for English speakers but it does rhyme with camouflage...the g is soft and extended, exactly as in camouflage. Promise! Rebuttal. Yes, I used to be a cross-x debater, just like Gene Kuo in Drama Club, though our team didn't have quite as much money for competing nationally. Gene's an idealized (gay) debater, he's not me. Really. As for this lineOf all the shades of being gay You get least dick if you?re prissy, Str8 acting is the easy role It takes balls to be a sissy. This made me laugh. I like this one. Jason R. Thanks! It was just fun and not meant to annoy anyone, just another perspective on sissies...has anyone else here read Sissyphobia or Sexual Oppression and Gender Phobia in Queer Men's Lives? Kisses... TR Quote Link to comment
