Happy Thanksgiving

Recommended Posts

My wishes for all our US friends to have a Happy Thanksgiving.

(I would send you an Aussie turkey for the celebration, but they are all stuffed, hoping to get elected next Saturday in our federal election.)

HIJACKING THE THREAD ALERT

Des, you said "hoping to get elected next Saturday."

Is this the Saturday upcoming in 1 or 2 days, or the one 7 or so days hence? This business of 'next' is a real problem in our society, with some defining it one way, and some another. Not only that, it's inconsistent, in that even someone who normally skips the very next 'Saturday' will NOT skip the very next month. i.e. Next month is NOT January for them. It drives me crazy.

I agree Trab, it does get confusing and it doesn't help that people reply that they always mean exactly what they say.

So yes, our election for the better of the evils, is Saturday 25th November 2007, this coming Saturday.

Both major parties have promised to not have anything to do with Gay marriage. Both have promised to equalise gender and orientation discrimination in other laws, just as they both did last election. Don't hold your breath.

Des, you're a cruel and nasty person. Saturday is the 24th November, not the 25th. Were you trying to confuse everyone?

Ah Just goes to show that when it comes to politics, I don't know what day it is.

Confuse everyone? Why not? If I succeed in doing that then I might appear to be a half-wit at least.:lol::lol:
