Quotes on the Lighter Side of Marriage

Recommended Posts

By all means, marry. If you get a good wife, you'll become happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher. -Socrates (Greek philosopher)
I was married by a judge. I should have asked for a jury. -Groucho Marx

I didn't bother checking the validity of these quotes as they are good enough to share anyway.

The Quote attributed to Socrates sounds more like Diogenes to me, but who knows?

Groucho Marx:

Some people claim that marriage interferes with romance. There's no doubt about it. Anytime you have a romance, your wife is bound to interfere.

Mae West:

Marriage is a great institution, but I'm not ready for an institution.

Unknown:

Marriage is like the army. Everybody complains, but you'd be surprised at how many re-enlist.
