Camy
Baen Books is now making available — for free — a number of its titles in electronic format. We're calling it the Baen Free Library. Anyone who wishes can read these titles online — no conditions, no strings attached. (Later we may ask for an extremely simple, name & email only, registration. ) Or, if you prefer, you can download the books in one of several formats. Again, with no conditions or strings attached. (URLs to sites which offer the readers for these format are also listed. ) The authors include Mercedes Lackey and Larry Niven, and the formats include .mobi and .epub http://www.baen.com/...ary/default.asp Quote Link to comment
Gee Whillickers
Oh my. Uhh, sorry everybody. I won't be able to write anything for the next many months. I just remembered a previous commitment... Quote Link to comment
Chris James
Goodness, I have read a few of those authors, what a great deal! Ditto, GW, so much for laboring at the keyboard for the rest of the day. Thanks for the heads up, Camy. Quote Link to comment
Merkin
It is an awesome opportunity to download some very notable fantasy and science fiction writers. Between the Baen site, the Tor.com site, and Project Gutenberg ( http://www.gutenberg.org/ ) I have dozens of great free titles on my Nook reader. Of course the greatest one of all is Midnight Dude... James Quote Link to comment
