Camy
'Days of Silence' by Viv. In 2006 I'd never written anything before and was hanging out at Gay Authors (I hadn't heard of AwesomeDude at the time). That April Gay Authors had an Anthology with the theme 'Day of Silence.' Someone suggested I had a go. So I did. I wrote 'JJ and the Boys' which was, I'm happy to say, well received. Reading through the other entries I came across Viv's 'Days of Silence' and it blew me away—to the extent I was in tears at the end. It's published at Codey's World, too, where I've read it several times. It's still as poignant. So read it, do! Link to comment
Rutabaga
This has been one of my favorite stories for years, and I ran across it again tonight. It gets so many things right. Worth a read or a re-read. R Link to comment
Trab
I just reread it again as well, and it really is worth doing that. Link to comment
Lugnutz
Thanks for the reminder. I've read this a couple times but not in the last couple of years. Reading it again. Link to comment
colinian
Viv has written a coming of age story with the ultimate happy ending. I first read it years ago, in 2006 when she first posted it. I was deeply moved by this story. It is worth a read and I do so at least once a year. Colin Link to comment
