JamesSavik
I believe that we need to moderate how we respond to there suicides. We may inadvertently be contributing to the copycat effect (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copycat_suicide). Quote Link to comment
The Pecman
"Tears Are Not Enough" is also a great title for a story. I'm filing that one away. Quote Link to comment
Chris James
Do we call this another win for the bullies? http://www.lgbtqnation.com/2013/02/bullied-gay-teen-who-hanged-himself-dies-after-clinging-to-life-for-16-days/ I feel sorry for his family, their pain will never end. DesDownunder
Whilst I am distraught and saddened by this tragedy, I recommend looking at the Wiki entry for suicide. It is such a complex subject with a long history and different cultural attitudes over many eras that the article tends to tell us more about the enigma of suicide than it provides us with an in-depth understanding. Comprehending how little we understand seems to help us to gain a perspective on a very difficult phenomenon. I was especially interested to read about the various factors that can trigger an attempt. Somehow, I felt a little less likely to submit to those factors having read about them.
