Chris James
Another story in his series about the Human Calculus, Squeezed paints a stark picture of a young life in poverty. On the whole there is nothing nice about the lives of those who toil in the coal mines and overall the story is depressing. But it gives us a very real sense of history and I will always enjoy that. Real is the key word here. This series of vignettes about real life is filled with startling images, well crafted, and gives the readers the view of a small segment of the population we rarely think about. I don't know how many more installments Phillip will give us in his sometimes disturbing mathematical equation about life, but I look forward to each one, and so should you: Story is here: http://www.awesomedu...HC/squeezed.htm Quote Link to comment
Camy
I came away from reading 'Squeezed' thanking my lucky stars that I wasn't born into similar circumstances way back when. It's a gruelling story, but well worth reading. Quote Link to comment
The Pecman
Doh, that is grueling. Very well-told, but man... that's dark. Quote Link to comment
