Guest Dabeagle
I've often felt like churches - especially the ones with several 'branches' are really businesses. The things the priests do aren't free. Want the baptism? Little fee. Want them to say mass for your dear old dad who went every Sunday? Fee. In fact, just so the wealth in Rome isn't affected, they break them up into regional businesses called a diocese and limit their liability. So that when, say, they allow hundreds of kids to be molested they can 'bankrupt' a diocese while living high on the hog elsewhere. The most disgusting part is, in the article, they claim this bankruptcy allows them to 'serve their current Catholic' crowd, while limiting what they have to give those they, literally, screwed for years. Sounds like a sound business solution. Read it here. Quote Link to comment
