Rutabaga
Spoiler question: Is it the case, then, that Peter's father was not part of the same drug operation as Pat and Melvin? I didn't notice any tie-in. r Link to comment
DesDownunder
I loved the story, but Cole excels himself with the evocation of the scenes at the mill. The painting came alive for me as if it was hanging on the wall by my computer. Marvellous! Link to comment

Gil Saul
I was excited every time I checked the site and a new chapter was up. This must be what it was like in the 19th century when The Old Curiosity Shop or whatever was coming out in installments! Thanks, Cole! Link to comment
Nigel Gordon
I loved this story, but then again so far I have not found anything of Cole's that I have not liked. Link to comment
Cole Parker
Thanks so much, guys. You're very kind. I've another coming soon, a short story. Hope it'll hold your interest, too. I can do this because, unlike most of you, I don't have a job to go to, a family to keep in line, a mistress to satisfy (if that applies here) or any mountains to climb or airplanes to jump out of. It's just me and my trusty old typewriter. Now that's a thought. If I had to use a typewriter I'd probably have given up years ago. C Link to comment
Chris James
And here I am weighing in weeks later...I just finished the story. Words like delightful for a complex story with some great characters occur to me. Cole never fails to please I just wish I had more time to devote to reading his stories all the way through in one sitting. Link to comment
