Guest Dabeagle
As was put forth, the school was uncovered and they have responded. Typical. Link to comment
Camy
The Missouri Synod, for anyone who doesn't know, is radically different from the ELCA (the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America), which has a much more progressive take on LGBT issues (and even allows gay pastors). Just want to make sure people don't think these guys are typical of Lutherans. That said, I'm surprised his parents enrolled him at the school. Link to comment
JamesSavik
I'm way past disgusted with the way religions act towards us. When you drive through parts of my state, I can take you to places that are absolute dumps. Old trailer homes, buildings falling down, generational poverty. The same town whose people basically live in a dump has a great big church, That should tell you all you need to know. They will not give up their power, control and wealth. When they do lose their grip, it is going to be a long fall which is why you keep hearing these religious nuts talking in apocalyptic terms. Link to comment
E.J.
That said, I'm surprised his parents enrolled him at the school. From that same Towelroad link, the school had a morals clause in the student handbook that the parents and the student HAD to be aware of. I wonder if his parents maybe don't like him very much. “Lutheran High North reserves the right, within its sole discretion, to refuse admission of an applicant and/or to discontinue enrollment of a current student participating in, promoting, supporting or condoning: pornography, sexual immorality, homosexual activity or bisexual activity; or displaying an inability or resistance to support the qualities and characteristics required of a Biblically based and Christ-like lifestyle,” Unless they are sacrificing their son to make a political point.....in which case my above statement still holds.
