Chris James
...but the war is still on. Just because marriage equality has swept the nation, the LGBT community is still under fire. There will be many battles ahead and I am happy to say that we now have a larger engine of war. While marriage was still a state by state battle all these other issues of discrimination were going on. It's hard to imagine how long this fight will last. http://www.vox.com/2015/7/6/8900589/gay-discrimination-oregon-teacher Quote Link to comment
JamesSavik
I know that it's rude to shatter peoples illusions. There is still a long way to go. I think EDNA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act) should be next. What good is being married if you can get fired over it??? Quote Link to comment
Merkin
I think EDNA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act) should be next. What good is being married if you can get fired over it??? I'm with James on this. Discrimination does and will continue to exist, and will prevail wherever it gets a toehold that is ignored. Right now the reporters seem ready to report and the public seems ready to listen, so let us take advantage of these opportunities. Soon enough we will lose out to the next set of headlines.
