colinian
You may have seen an excerpt of Royce Mann reading his slam poem at a contest at his high school in Atlanta. Here's the full poem, and the language isn't expurgated the way it was on network and cable news. His poem won the contest. He's an amazing 14-year-old 8th grade middle school kid with an amazing message. Colin Link to comment
ChrisR
I think I've just found somebody whose name I can write in on my November ballot. Link to comment
Merkin
Wow! Royce Mann for Poet Laureate. I wish I'd had his chops when I was 14. Link to comment
Bruin Fisher
Astounding. Glad he has a voice and a platform and that he's using them to such good effect. Link to comment

Nigel Gordon
Very insightful and very well presented. Just hope he does become president one day. Isn't it time you amended the constitution to remove the minimum age of 35? Link to comment
Jeff Ellis
It's hard to believe that he comes from the same nation as Donald Trump... until you realise that the poem is addressed to 14 year old Donald Trumps. The next generation of Trumps is out there, waiting their turn to take advantage of their place on the top rung. Link to comment
JamesSavik
This white privilege: I must have missed it. Where do I get mine? Living in the hood we don't see much of it. Link to comment
