  1. No one ever ended up using the channel, so I closed it. Please delete this thread.
  2. Trab - IRC has been around long before AIM, MSN or YIM, so I must say that it's just as 'regular' as any of those. :P blue - I don't recall ever stating it was the official IRC channel. Anyone who assumes so is silly. dude - <3
  3. Hey there! I want to tell you a little bit about IRC today. IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat. It is completely text-based chat, and requires a client like AIM or MSN to talk to other people. Unlike those two protocols, though, IRC is more like a collection of chat rooms and allows users to own "channels" or rooms where people can gather and chat amongst eachother. I've set up a channel on my server located at irc.fukt.us #AD for the AwesomeDude Community to use. First you'll need a client. If you use Windows, mIRC is a good choice for the beginner. After downloading, and installing, open it up and type you desired nickname into the Options dialog that pops up. Now, the email and full name fields are not what you think they are. Do not put your email or name here as anyone will be able to see it. Instead, use your nickname again for both. Click ok, and type in the white bar at the bottom of the status window: /server irc.fukt.us -j #AD Congratulations, you have just connected to the server and channel! Chat away... For Linux users, if you are used to the command line, try irssi. If you want a GUI based package, try xchat. _____________ Quick FAQ Q. How do I change my nickname? A. Type /nick newnickname Q. What do the @ and other symbols by people's names mean? A. ~ = channel owner, & = channel admin, @ = channel operator, + = voiced Q. How do I mark myself as away (and then return again? A. /away reason to mark yourself away, and then /away again, to unmark. Q. What is a hostmask? A. On irc, you are represented by your hostmask, which is nickname!ident@hiddenhost.isp.com. Normally, your ip would appear where hiddenhost is, but our server cloaks it for your protection. Type /whois yournick to see your own hostmask. The first line that appears is the hostmask that is shown to all other users. Q. How do I stop receiving messages from an abusive user? A. Report this user to a network administrator in #help, or use the /ignore hostmask command. _______________________________________ PM me if you have any questions. Dude, please sticky, or global this thread!
  4. I've been an avid watcher of /bi/young-friends/ on Nifty for quite some time, and it just seems like it doesn't get that much attention from authors. I've got plenty of ideas for great stories, but I really never get the motivation to sit down and type it all out. That might have to do with my ADHD though. If anyone could direct me to any alternative story archives that have such content (13- in age girls and boys having awesome sex), my cock and I would be much appreciative. Also, if you have any specific stories to recommend, that'd be great too. I'm more interested in the carnal, steamy, sex stories, though, which seem to be hard to come by when you're also looking for the stories to be well written (on Nifty, at least). -ian
  5. Jeez that's a lot of bullshit to get a sound card working. The onboard audio (Realtek 'HD') that came with my new mobo is pretty lame. It's not even 24-bit. I'm not really pressed to get a separate card atm but I'll probably go for an Audigy when I do.
  6. Yeah, I was specifically looking for studio headphones that seal out all other sound. When I've got these Sennheisers on, people around me can't even hear what I'm listening to if it's full blast.
  7. I disagree. The best earbuds I've ever listened to came with my iPod.

    Kitties!

    Post kitties and such!
  9. Is that so? My friend was trying to tell me that Sennheiser are 'overpriced crap' and that no proffesional studios use them, but they were recommended to me by my brother, so I'm not sure who to listen to.
  10. dude just bought me some Sennheiser HD 280 pros for my birthday http://www.dansdata.com/hd280.htm They sound exceptional on my crappy old 2.0 sound card, but very bass-distorted on my ipod (probably because of the 62 ohm wattage; 32 is recommended for portable devices). The bass distorts a tad on some high bass songs, but I reckon that could be avoided by investing in a nice 5.1 sound card to be able to efficiently drive the 'phones. Anyone else here have headphone or system reviews to contribute? Music is so good :)
  11. What? It's not related to 9/11 at all. LOL where the fuck did you read that? The movie is about a monster attack on Manhattan. I won't ruin the movie for anyone who hasn't seen it (if you haven't, go today!). Sometimes the shakiness is a little upsetting, but albeit a few (not even a lot) scenes with a lot of running or movement, the cam was steady most of the time like it were on a tripod. The execution of this film was superb imo, and they left room for a sequel. The animation and gfx were just grand as well, and it was worth spending the money to see in theaters; don't listen to the critics, this is one you've gotta see for yourself.
