Scott Lively's Amendment

Recommended Posts

Scott Lively wants ( http://www.scottlively.net/) to replace the "freedom from religion" rational inference from the First Amendment as it applies to the Establishment of Religion Clause, with an exception of exclusion for a specific group of American citizens.

The consequence of such an act would, in addition, facilitate the disapprobation of atheists and other non-believers by virtue of his definition of "religious organisation."

Make no mistake, Scott Lively is acting like a modern day Grand Inquisitor. Like Tomás de Torquemada, his intent is to rid the world of not only crimes of heresy and apostasy but also sorcery, sodomy, polygamy, blasphemy, usury and other offenses; by using torture authorized and imposed by his amendment, in order to subjugate those accused of such 'crimes.'.

In his amendment to the First Amendment, Lively converts the Constitution of the United States into a justification for an auto-da-fé (act of faith) against those who do not belong to an 'religious organisation.'

The resultant torture and horrors would amount to persecution and assassination of a once free and innocent people, but who, regardless of the sexual orientation, become subjected to the bigoted excesses of a proclaimed statute that becomes known as The American Inquisition.

Lively has had considerable influence in other countries. Do not underestimate the power of his bigotry and religious fanaticism. It threatens us all.
