In the gay news we always read about homeless gay youth and the issues they face, but what about the senior gays?

The challenge many elderly gay men and lesbian women face within society is not just social rejection by the community at large, it is financial as well. Offering affordable housing for the elderly, who as this article so aptly states were the pioneers of the gay movement, should be one of our priorities.

It gets even worse if the seniors' nursing homes are run by homophobic religious organisations.

Then there is the separation of long time partners because of illness, not to mention a surviving partner's grief and loneliness.

These are issues which must be addressed immediately.
