Joe
Prunus ilicfolia ssp. lyonil is a native Californian, very happy in the vicinity of the Channel Islands. Whence comes the popular name, "Catalina Cherry". Not particularly awe inspiring in and of itself, but the birds love its fruit, and it's thick vegetation can be a mini-jungle in which boys might pretend to be heathens, naked in the jungle. A worthy tree in all respects. Some of the adventures of the heathens, in and around these trees, as well as other places to be sure, will be coming soon. I hope you might enjoy them. Link to comment
