Mihangel
Another piece from the Observer about a young male escort and his background - by a curious coincidence he comes from a place not far from the setting of the film "Pride" I posted earlier. http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/aug/31/male-escort-interview-prostitution-drug-abuse Link to comment
Merkin
An oddly moving story written by a reporter with an oddly sympathetic point-of-view. I must admit I don't know what to make of Josh and what he has opted for as his way out of dead-end prospects. I shudder when I think of what is usually described as "The Sex Industry" both in your culture and in my own, and I am keenly aware of how close and how thin the dividing line is between succeeding at this and living homeless and victimized in the streets. For every one of this sort of "success" story there must as well be thousands of tragic endings, and it is impossible to celebrate an individual outcome such as this one. Link to comment
