  1. The poll has a problem, because I actually use Open Office and Microsoft office on the same computer, and sometimes for the same document. Why? Different people want the document in different programs.

vote for both (it may take 2 separate votes)

never mind, you can't vote twice, even if you delete cookies. Some would call this a feature, but I would agree that it is a problem if you use more than one suite.

  2. More than half a million Apple computers have been infected with the Flashback Trojan, according to a Russian anti-virus firm.

Its report claims that about 600,000 Macs have installed the malware - potentially allowing them to be hijacked and used as a "botnet".

Java's developer, Oracle, issued a fix to the vulnerability on 14 February, but this did not work on Macintoshes as Apple manages Java updates to its computers.

Apple released its own "security update" on Wednesday - more than eight weeks later. It can be triggered by clicking on the software update icon in the computer's system preferences panel.

  3. from the above link....

The Weinstein Company (TWC), aided by the guidance and consultation from attorneys David Boies and Ted Olson, announced today that the MPAA has lowered the R rating, given for some language, for BULLY to a PG-13 in time for the film's April 13th expansion to 55 markets. The scene that has been at the forefront of the battle with the MPAA, the intense scene in the film that shows teen Alex Libby being bullied and harassed on a bus, has been left fully intact and unedited. BULLY director Lee Hirsch felt editing the scene was not an option, and subsequently refused to do so, since it is too important to the truth and integrity behind the film. Also a victory is the exception the MPAA made by allowing the film to be released with the new rating before 90 days, which is the length of time their policy states a film must wait to be in theaters after a rating change to avoid confusion or inconvenience for moviegoers.
  4. So it appears the two men weren't engaging in public sex. They were simply on their balcony while not fully dressed. The report doesn't make it clear, but I'd guess they were sunbathing.

Amazing how things change when you start hearing facts, not news reports.

    C

it now appears they were having sex. (pictures NSFW)

  5. Mike Huckabee Uses Fox Show to Call on Everyone to See Bully
"When I viewed Bully, my first reaction was to think that every parent and grandparent in the country needs to see it, along with every child in elementary school or above,"
"Yes, there are moments, albeit limited, in which profanity is used, and it’s language that I would not personally use nor condone," he wrote. "However, the language is not gratuitous nor without redeeming value, in that it provides the shock effect to drive home the point that this is a serious issue. This is not 'kids being kids.'"

  6. Such a good link EJ and so telling we are not only like 37th but that we are in the "yellow" section as well. It would be interesting to see a listing of US states like this

Re the Spartacus rating for Australia: .......

    See footnote number 14:

In Australia there is a current debate regarding national laws concerning gay marriage or civil partnerships. The outcome is uncertain.

I hardly consider Australia's rating to be low.....I mean your rated higher than Liechtenstein (and the US).

  7. Sponsors had been under pressure to amend the original bill, which would have banned any teaching about homosexuality apart from “natural human reproduction” before eighth grade. The measure was meant to keep schools and teachers from initiating discussions about gays and lesbians, but even its backers conceded Tuesday that it might have brought unintended consequences.

The bill lost a lot of support when people started actually doing their homework.

“We found out there really is not sex education curriculum in K-8 right now,” said state Rep. Bill Dunn, R-Knoxville, the bill’s original sponsor.

  8. Hopeless..........

At least 90 Iraqi teenagers with "emo" appearances have been stoned to death by religious extremists in Baghdad in the past month after an inflammatory interior ministry statement dubbed it "devil worshiping", activists said.

Iraq's Moral Police released a chilling statement on the interior ministry's website condemning the "emo phenomenon" among Iraqi youth, disturbingly declaring its intent to "eliminate" the trend.

"The 'Emo phenomenon' or devil worshiping is being followed by the Moral Police who have the approval to eliminate [the phenomenon] as soon as possible since it's detrimentally affecting the society and becoming a danger," the statement read.

    GA50.22335302-3-x.jpg

she is a pure Rottweiler, but small at 70 lbs., so nothing too cute.

A friend suggested Reese, as in Reese's peanut butter cups, which is ok.

needing some help here as I suddenly can't think of any good names
