  1. They are SOOOO missing an opportunity. They need a "Survivor" or and "Amazing Race", or even a "Bachelor" type of competition to determine the winner of this prize. They would be able to see the charm of the contenders, their shyness or lack thereof, and generate an interest in the competing lithe bodies that would be viewed around the world. They would probably make enough from advertising to fund the whole project, and even the contest would provide the needed publicity.

For ongoing fun, they could have side contests with other beauties to vie for the right to visit for a day, be shown the island, and have a great evening together.

No no more reality tv, unless it's who's the hottest :P

  2. From today's (11/21/08) LA Times:

    LOS ANGELES

Gays' eHarmony suit a class action

People seeking same-sex relationships on eHarmony can sue as a class action case against the online matchmaking website, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled Wednesday.

Judge Victoria Chaney granted class certification for the lawsuit filed on behalf of gays, lesbians and bisexuals in the state who were unable to seek same-sex matches on eHarmony.

The online dating service, based in Pasadena, calls itself the "#1 Trusted Relationship Site" and boasts that it has kindled romance for "millions of people of all ages, ethnicities, national origins and religious and political beliefs." However, eHarmony serves only users looking for heterosexual partners. When signing up for a match, users must choose whether they are a "Man seeking a woman" or a "Woman seeking a man."

"eHarmony is not providing a service to people who are seeking a same-sex match, and that is really a violation of California law," said Joshua Konecky, an attorney representing the plaintiffs.

A trial is set for October 2009 to determine whether eHarmony is in violation of state law, Konecky said.

Is it mostly a Christan dating site?

Rather of trying to sue them go to a gay friendly site.

  3. There have been many protest against prop 8 since it passed even one started that night.

although this is off topic, Wanda Skyes came out last weekend (she's a comedian if you didn't know). from a speech she did against prop 8 in Nevada.

this is from a blog, if this is inappropriate please edit it.

    Gays fight back =)

I guess I should explain this before you watch it:

A group of religious extremists met to pray in the Castro district regularly, to pray for the gays to not be gay, essentially. This particular group spent 40 days praying in San Diego for the passage of Prop 8. So when they went to pray this time, in San Fran, they were met with a bunch of very angry homos. No one was hurt or attacked, though they said they were splashed with hot coffee (oh well if it's true.) The cops showed up and escorted them home, and also created a blockade to keep the gays from following them home.

    Awesome, in my opinion.

I'm glad to see gay people finally saying they aren't going to take it laying down, no lube, anymore. =) In all seriousness, f**k yea though. They make a very good point, if you don't like gay people don't go into the Castro district of San Fran to pray against them. Simple as that. You f**ked up Mormons, you f**ked up Catholics that supported Prop 8. You've awoken sleeping queens.

  4. Oh sure- and this is supposed to be a good thing?

now they've got time on their hands and they aren't somewhere we can keep an eye on them.

They'll be spreading the clap at all the truck stops.

Ugh, James is right now if they are dismembered they might have time to really screw things up and we can't monitor them.

  5. Exactly,

Trust me most people knew he was gay.

Claiken has been asked many times about his sexual orientation, but always deflected or refused to answer.

I'm in the bad movie/TV business, working terrible hours, and usually only deal with harried, overworked post-production execs and producers. Occasionally I get to work with a director, but we almost never get to see any stars or "personalities." (But then there was the time Faye Dunaway almost tried to kill me during a session, but that's another story. Totally true.)

I'm glad Clay finally did it, but you gotta wonder about his timing. I can only assume he finally realized that if everybody knew he was gay, it wouldn't affect his album or concert sales. If anything, I bet he'll get a brief publicity bounce for the next few weeks, while he makes the rounds of all the talkshows. Good for him.

  6. From KTVU.com on August 18, 2008:

California's highest court on Monday barred doctors from invoking their religious beliefs as a reason to deny treatment to gays and lesbians, ruling that state law prohibiting sexual orientation discrimination extends to the medical profession.

The ruling was unanimous and a succinct 18 pages, a contrast to the state Supreme Court's 4-3 schism in May legalizing gay marriage.

    Colin :icon_geek:

Great to hear, I have also heard that some pharmacist like EleCivil has said has refused to give birth control to customers because of their religous beliefs, imo they need to leave it at home.

  7. I disagree witth some, kid should play and then go up, half of it is the parents fault.

, now with kid sports they don't want to have any losers anymore.. everyone is a winner what happend with being able to lose and to actually learn lession. now with alot of schools everyone has be able to get onto a team, ya know not everyone is cut out for every sport. Plus how are they going to able to deal with getting jobs deal with a guy or girl etc. Also now if they have a birthday party also on a weekend you have to invite everyone that is pretty stupid.

  8. We have a program here called CERT, Community Emergency Response Team. In our area CERT volunteer members are trained by specialists from the county fire department. They accept kids who are 16 years old for the training, so I and several others from my high school went through the training in early 2006. We learned first-responder skills, including how to put out small, simple fires, how to search for victims, how to rescue people, things like that. I'm now a certified CERT first responder for our neighborhood. I keep trying to get others to go through the 6-week 2 nights/week training course, but while our neighbors are "interested" they never follow through. "Too busy" is what I hear mostly. One thing I learned was how to prepare emergency kits for our home, cars, and each person, and keep them updated.

Trab, you might want to do a Google search on CERT to see what sort of information might help you organize something where you live in BC.

    Colin

    Good skill to have Colin.
