Dad

My father died in 1999. Never having had to personally deal with death before my sister and I had him cremated.

I wrote this a good while later, and came across it yesterday.

He would have laughed.

Dad is in the cupboard

Underneath the stairs

It's probably best a secret

Though I'm sure he wouldn't care

Dad is in the cupboard

Or is he in the loft

It's typical he can't be found

When it's time to dust him off

Time has healed the rawness

Though I still miss him a lot

He should be under glorious skies

Not stuck inside a pot
