Camy
Computer viruses make it to orbitA computer virus is alive and well on the International Space Station (ISS). Nasa has confirmed that laptops carried to the ISS in July were infected with a virus known as Gammima.AG. The worm was first detected on Earth in August 2007 and lurks on infected machines waiting to steal login names for popular online games. Nasa said it was not the first time computer viruses had travelled into space and it was investigating how the machines were infected. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/7583805.stm There's something very 'Hollywood' about this. No doubt Bruce Willis will be in the film version. Link to comment
DesDownunder
If the mission proves to be impossible the film version is more likely too star Tom Cruise. Link to comment

The Pecman
Ah, computer pundit Leo Laporte mentioned on one of his recent podcasts that there are some Linux-specific viruses and trojans out there that are pretty nasty. Some of them can be altered to run under Mac OSX, because they take advantage of certain flaws in the Unix underpinnings. (I love it when I talk sexy -- "Unix underpinnings." What a turn-on.).
