What Day Is It?

It is a day earlier than I thought.

Could I now have dreamt today already,

For if It's still yesterday and tomorrow,

Is not here yet, it cannot be today.

But if that is so, I may be asleep,

And when I awaken from this nightmare,

I'll see this day is not really today,

Even if I think it is yesterday.

But what if I sleep on into the night,

And wake to find the day is tomorrow,

When really I dreamt it was yesterday,

Because I thought today was not today.

But, so long as you are sleeping with me,

I do not mind what day, now yonder dawns.
