Gay Muslim storyline in 'Eastenders'

I'm not too sure what to make of this. The (moderate) muslim community in the UK are feeling embattled at the moment, a lot of bad feeling towards them as a result of association with extremists. But the muslim religion does not tolerate homosexuality so the publicity for 'normal' muslim families that this storyline will engender will not please everyone.

On the other hand look at the pic of the actor - what a hunk!

The whole soap fails to generate interest in my house. Awful, depressing and often sensationalist, this is just another stunt by the BBC to boost ratings on a flagging soap opera!

I quite liked it when I was in England in the 90s. Of course, that was when they had the Tony and Simon storyline, which, I'll admit, was a major reason for me to watch the show
