skoolboy_uk
http://www.number10.gov.uk/Page20571 Alan Turing gets a well overdue apology for the manner in which he was treated at the time (1952) for 'being gay' This man was undoubtedly a war hero but it was probably still 'top secret' back then Peter Quote Link to comment
Bruin Fisher
The text of the PM's response has been sent out as an e-mail to everyone who signed the petition, with the following inserted at the beginning: 'Thank you for signing this petition. The Prime Minister has written a response. Please read below.' If I was cynical I might comment: 'It's almost enough to make you feel he cares...' but of course I'm not cynical, not at all. No No you are not cynical Bruin. He does care...about being re-elected. To be fair, who knows, maybe he had a dalliance when younger and is genuinely understanding of the need to honour Alan Turing. It is a wonderful statement by your PM. Quote Link to comment
