Windows XP Won't remember username/passwords

I recently switched back to my XP Pro Production machine for producing the site.

Problem is.. XP won't remember any username/passwords. Google search produces nothing on how to address this... just a number of software vendors wanting to sell me software programs to remember passwords. Well, that's supposed to be built into Windows xp ... duh!

Anybody know the XP Pro system well enough to get me over this hump?

I haven't used XP for a while but I believe this is a browser specific thing and not an XP thing. Check the privacy settings on your web browser (Firefox, Chrome, or ugh - Internet Explorer) and see if it's set to not remember passwords and cookies.

There seems to be some security problems with the browsers at the moment.

Of course this might have nothing to do with the remembering of passwords, but I thought it might be worth mentioning in case it has some bearing on the matter.

It makes for cautioned informed reading, anyway.
