vwl
The third of the Goldendale series about fathers and sons, The Book of Samuel, is starting to post: http://awesomedude.com/bi_janus/bos/index.htm The next generation joins the saga. The story is, by the way, finished -- for those who have been burnt by storius interruptus. Quote Link to comment
Jeff Ellis
I must go back and read the earlier ones. I like the way that the fact that he can punctuate hasn't meant that he had to get the science wrong! It's a story that has started with literacy hand in hand with science-literacy... a pleasant change. I look forward to more. Quote Link to comment
samwise
One little puzzle: When does this take place? In Chapter 2 of "Cover and Book", North has an iPhone. The first iPhone was released on June 29, 2007, providing a terminus post quem for the story. Since in "The Book of Samuel", North has a 14-year-old son, does this mean that the story takes place after 2020? Quote Link to comment
Paul
The series takes place in NowWhen. Quote Link to comment

Jeff Ellis
The story is complete and was as great as I had hoped. It's a story of great complexity and gentleness. My instinct now that it's complete is that I should go back and read it again at a single sitting, or as near that as real life permits. There are so many characters weaving in and out of each other's lives that reading it as a complete work will be essential fo some people. Personally I have found reading it as a serial to be a twice weekly joy. Many, many thanks. Quote Link to comment
