Nigel Gordon
I've held off on saying anything about this up till now as I wanted to see how it was developing. This is a story which Mihangel is telling in his own delightful style. It is also a story set at a period of time which many historians would claim is one of the most important in world history, the reign of Menander, which can be seen as the turning point in the development of Buddhism. One thing that many people do not realize is that traditional figures of the Buddha portray him wearing Greek dress. Why is that, the answer is simple, the first figures of the Buddha originate in the Indo/Greek states of this period. I don't know where this story is going to go but knowing Mihangel's writing it is going to be interesting, challenging and no doubt inspiring. It is also likely to be highly informative as it is clear from what has been written to date that Mihangel has a good insight into an interesting period of history. Link to comment
