An excellent decision by the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals approving a carefully crafted definition by the Federal Communications Commission of exactly what the internet and its service providers have become today. The nay-sayers (Comcast, Cox Communications, AT&T, Verizon, and the other leading internet service providers) will probably request that the full Circuit Court of Appeals review the 2-1 decision but it's anticipated that it would be approved.

Having worked in a regulated industry for much of my working life, I see nothing more stultifying to innovation than regulation. And an ossified internet will emerge, where bureaucrats decide whether investment is needed or not.
