  1. I am not sure if this movie has been rated yet by AD guys, but I wanted to do it in support of one of the most important persons in my life.

Jet Boy is a very intense movie that might make you cry, cheer, or just get mad. I hope so. The story happens everyday, over and over. We have both been there, done that.

You can find it on Youtube: under Jet Boy... the media is too long for the bandwidth, about an hour and a half.

    Thanks for listening.

  2. Your concerns are valid, but don't change horses in the middle of a stream. If you find contractions adequate in the dialogue you write then continue it throughout.

I fear that this young generation of texting individuals will devolve the language even further. If that happens I would suggest any of us who post on AD will look like a bunch of frickin sages.

Yep, today a new friend of mine in Zimbabwe said all you guys were "intellectuals and sages of high merit"... so clean up your act, ok?!

I for one have to think hard about writing contactions. It's very difficult for me. And I have never texted, not once!

  3. Ben,

As always, you have given as good as they. I hope I can look back on my teens and see myself when I am older. Our family has a wide range of religions and religious beliefs, most of which are not religously followed... From Buddhist to agnostic to nothing other than just the golden rule.

  4. Does that mean they can double-dip? Take the income (including profits) off their tax form, then an additional deduction for a contribution to a charity? Probably not (the IRS is not that dumb), but it makes one wonder.

Yes, they can! And, yes, they are double-dipping... but, all is fair when it comes to the "Lord's work", right?

And, with so many translations of the Bible, it is easy for any whackjob to give credence to their own interpretations. Luckily, I do not have to live by a book. I live by good examples.

  5. "And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." - Matthew 19:24

I have been told by my resident Christian, who is a Roman Catholic, the translation of this parable was incorrect. It is not a camel through the needle's eye, but a rope. That makes more sense when you think about it.

As for donating profits... are you kidding? Tax-free profits I might add.

  6. Thank you, you are both gentlemen and scholars. It is sort of amazing over 20 views, but only two replies. I think weed and alcohol will be the drugs of choice. Glue is a possibility, but usually used to curb appetite, and so you do not care any longer... cheap too. The info was for a writing project in a summer class.

    Again, thank you.

  7. I need a little imput.... Not having grown up all of my time in the US, can someone give me an idea of the typical types of drugs (illegal) used by preteen and teens. I used glue for a specific reason, but I was thinking more in line of recreational drugs. My cutoff age would be around 14.

    Thanks in advance.

  8. "Why are you fighting? What are you bragging about? Don't you realize that the heat death of the universe is only a few billion years away, at which point - win or lose - none of your little squabbles will have mattered?" While it's not something I'd prefer to think about constantly, it is a good way of staying humble.

I am not bragging. I was not even refering to the death of our world by heat. I was talking about the emphasis on war, and our possible self-destruction, other than forgeting to take care of our enviroment. I think the human race has accomplished more than finding new ways of eradicating each other.
