  1. Hi, John.  Are you interested in a story for Valentine's Day, upcoming, or is it too late for you to consider it?  I have a "refreshed" story I derived from  a longer version that appeared on AD back in 2010. This one is called "Jesse's Valentine" and runs a little over 3400 words.  If you don't have room for it I will certainly understand.  My problem is I don't see any way to attach it as a Word .doc to your new writetome.net message system.  Plus the system wouldn't send this text on to you. Please advise if there is another way to get a .doc file to you.
I stand in awe and admiration at all you have done to pull AD back from the brink and into an accessible site again.
    Sincerely,
    James Merkin.

  2. I tackled quite a few of them, Root, before I caught on that this series is basically a character-driven soap opera more about who hates/loves/worships/angers its central character Scarpetta than it is about crime solving.  The forensic factfinding is authentic and informative but the reader is often ahead of the pathologist in figuring out whodonit.

  3. This just gets better and better.  It’s up to Chapter 10, and it is truly inspirational, a perfect counterpoint to the shouting and name calling and general nastiness our culture seems to have become. Whether or not you can identify with this Montana farm-boy and his Harvard boyfriend, what is on offer here is a glimpse of what life could be like if only we could give it our best effort.

  4. Bout time, Cole, for more Christmas verse,
Get out your dictionary and begin to curse
For nothing’s so hard as finding new rhymes
To words like Rudolph and holiday pines.

We’re counting on you for seasonal gaff
So we can seize a rare chance to laugh
And have fun with your insightful lines
Amid the chaos of these perilous times.

    James
