Step One: DRAFT WRITE OF NOVEL
Chapter One: Finished 20 April, Apx 6900 words.
Chapter Two: Finished 3 May, Apx 5400 words [12300 rt]
Chapter Three: Finished 9 May 2009, Apx 3500 words. [15800 rt]
Chapter Four: Finished 25 May 2009, Apx 4500 words.
Chapter Four: Finished 30 May 2009, Apx 6400 words. [22200 rt]
I had started five, but it really belongs with 4. So I've added it to 4. Five starts anew. Sadly, this means my chapters will be less consistent in length but, it's more important for them to break naturally. I can't wait for everyone to mean Flo: she cracks me up.
I've also done some back-editing so the word counts have changed.

STB is a bunch of horny kids doing horny things in a room with a small group.
Sexting involves sending photos sometimes. Those photos end up in places were thousands or more people see them.
I much don't care either way, but do you really want to see your naked self online for many decades to come?

This was to be expected from a legal standpoint.
It'll get returned to the people to get it re-placed on the ballots and then a re-vote.
At least they let those married stay married.

I really hope it speeds up now. Chapter four was just brutal to write. I had to write around some complex issues and it was hard for me to write because of some other reasons. Maybe it'll be evident when you all see it one day.

There are many posts (see Google) of people who are proud of voting 2k to 3k times. Really. It's shameful.
America, sadly, is not ready for a gay Goth guy with eyeliner and black fingernails. Even I was creeped out by his nails.
It's a shame because while I've watched a 3 episodes of this stupid, mind-rot show in my whole life. I watched parts of this one. GayBoy outsang StraightBoy by a lot. And after StraightBoy failed and ruined Santana's song, he should have been sent home on the spot.

I worked with a nice young lady, who complained that her family used to go naked swimming, but recently her younger brother, about 13, was refusing to go with them anymore. After a few questions, it was obvious to me that the poor kid was getting aroused, and didn't like being embarrassed like that. I asked her why she'd never thought about that, and she was truly mortified
Yeah, no sane teen wants to be naked around people he's sexually attracted to when there are large numbers of witnesses especially when said witnesses are related.
Frankly, I'd let Pec decide who could and couldn't wear clothes.

I keep track of it in my head. I have screwed up (a number of readers pointed out the wayward luggage in AWMS -- it was fixed in the director's cut).
Some authors are horribly bad at it (none here that I am aware of).

Pec, while your advice is sound it really depends how you write. I often write a scene that is short (or long) and when I'm in it, I have to finish. When I'm done I'm emotionally drained and I have to stop sometimes for quite awhile.
The running total is so everyone can know how it's progressing. This is the first (and only) time I've ever bothered about word count. I am guessing based on what my projected story arc is that this will be around 100,000 words. I could be wrong: maybe it'll be 80 or 120. But at least everyone has a clue when it's going to be coming.
When it's done it'll have a nice posting schedule: fast and furious.
