We all are suffering from the noisy, caustic, unnerving election campaigns we're suffering through, and it'll only get worse today and tomorrow. So, as a boon to frazzle nerves and toxic irritation, here is this. It can be referred to often over the next couple of days, as needed.

Thank you for not making it Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony (Pathetique). Beautiful music indeed, but reportedly was the music being played as Captain Hans Langsdorff committed suicide after the loss of the German cruiser Graf Spee during World War II.

Given the number of robocalls I've received prior to this election, there have been moments...!

His 6th is one of my favorites. It certainly is lugubrious. I like to listen to it in a dark room with a glass of single malt on the table next to me, to be sipped slowly as the music unfolds.

You have to admit, you can feel the man's pain in every note.
