Beautiful music indeed, but reportedly was the music being played as Captain Hans Langsdorff committed suicide after the loss of the German cruiser Graf Spee during World War II. I like to listen to it in a dark room with a glass of single malt on the table next to me, to be sipped slowly as the music unfolds. You have to admit, you can feel the man's pain in every note.
