Gee Whillickers
According to an article on aidsmap, a man has been cured of HIV after receiving a stem cell transplant from an HIV resistant donor. How many countries still have political resistance to stem cell research? The full article is here on the aidsmap website. Let's hope this isn't a one-off freaky thing. The future is looking up. JamesSavik
I have heard this claim many time before and am highly skeptical. However- after reading the article, I am hopeful. Quote Link to comment
E.J.
since this happened 3 years ago, I HOPE the treatment has been offered to other people. Quote Link to comment
The Pecman
Stem-cell research is more complicated than that. It turns out there's several different kinds, and not all involve amniotic fluid (which is what the right-to-lifers are screaming about). I'm 100% for experimenting on live babies in the street if it'll help cure horrible diseases and cure people suffering with incurable infections and so on. In fact, I'd start with the children of the founders of the Westboro Baptist Church. Quote Link to comment
