  1. Not that this applies to Cole's stories, but I've been bitten so often by reading serial stories than end up with nearly terminal delays before the next chapter, that I now mostly wait till the story is completed, and then binge read it. A cliff hanger is not much of one if you get to the next chapter a minute later.

That said, there are some scoundrel authors who change the point of view (character followed) for one or more chapters, so creating a cliff hanger even for the binge reader.

  2. Thanks for the invite, but I'm actually too busy. I'm in the process of comparing two different versions of a 368 page legal contract. They are supposed to be the same, but all the Articles and subs have been put in different places and given new numbers. I have to find any mistakes and omissions. Fun huh?

We old geezers with little enough to do besides worry that arthritis will seize up our mouse fingers tend to forget the stresses and strains of the workaday world.

It's a real worry too. But just thinking about mowing my lawn, or even putting out the garbage and recycling, reminds me of the workday hardships.

Another argument against male genital mutilation  ie routine circumcision for non-medical reasons.

Are you suggesting that without circumcision there wouldn't be pricks in the IRS? If only! 😸

  5. It wasn't half bad at all, although certainly not high literature, but it's disappointing that it was just dropped incomplete.

I suspect many of these incomplete stories are because there is too little feedback to the authors. Sad.

  6. Well written. It's always been a wonder to me that once population control became obviously necessary the powers that be didn't start to encourage same sex and discourage hetero sex. I suspect that greed (for power and money) is the main reason. A reducing population doesn't lend itself to increasing power or markets.

  7. Sadly, I too feel it's too damned late to change our impending doom, as a civilization and maybe a species. On a personal level I'm ready to go if it comes to that, but I don't want to suffer to get there. We should encourage the powers that be to provide quick release pills, rather than fighting to maintain people in an unwanted and often painful life of helpless misery. Dignity in dying (assisted suicide) is being fought all over the place: why?

Keep watching for upcoming chapters, Grasshopper...

I know that expression, so I'm not upset at its use, but I want to point out that there is a writer of very awesome LGBTQ+ stories (sadly inactive for many years now) by that pen name. He reported being injured in a farm accident, and hasn't been heard from since (as far as I'm aware). 😢

  9. You shouldn't let your admiration for her writing affect your friendship. (chortle, snigger) Bias works in two directions. 😈

I've never bought (rented?) books online, from any of the various sources, and don't know how it works. Can someone explain it to me, simply? Does one need a dedicated reader for the various types, or are there apps to use on an iPad, and would that be one app or several? What are the various outlets to acquire the different books? Are they listed by category/genre? Plus any other information that is relevant, please.

  10. Frankly, I haven't even really bothered myself about the scheduling in the story. It is what it's stated as, and as I'm not going to school there it's not a concern. That said, when I was in Secondary school in the middle 1960's we operated on a 7 day cycle, and many kids hated that each weekday would have a changed lineup every week. You might think that as an aspie I'd be upset, but no; it's just another regular system that only seems random at first.

I love this story, BTW. 👍👏
