What a wonderful story. Beautifully thought out and written. It shows how boys at their best can change the world. A must read!
  6. Thank you all for writing. Actually, there was a lot in the story which was quite real. Alitmexis, you might be interested to know that I began my teaching career as the only male teacher in the elementary school. It was a bit lonely at first. Later I moved to a school that was pre-K through 9th grade so there were several male teachers.
  7. Hi folks, Just wanted to let you know that my newest short story, "The Dreamer," will be posted tomorrow. For those of you who have noted that several of my stories involve hospitals and doctors, I can assure you that neither will be in this story. Happy read. Alan Dwight
  8. My latest shortish story, "One Step at a Time," will be up and running on Wednesday. Hope you enjoy it. Alan
  9. These interconnected stories are a great read. While they are four separate stories, the characters all have some things in common. I enjoyed them all.
  10. I have written a new short story entitled "Seeing Double." It involves twins, and it's much lighter in tone than my last posted story. "Seeing Double" will be posted on Wednesday. Enjoy! Alan
  11. Thank you, Joe. Your support means a lot.
  12. A new short story, titled "First Love" will be posted tomorrow. Enjoy.
  13. I had a straw hat on which I put "I Like Ike" with friction tape. Again, thank you all for writing.
  14. Thank you all for writing. Yes, Cole, I remember the wooing of Ike by both parties. He was actually the first President I actually saw and I wore his buttons. Of course, I was not at all aware at the time of the Lavender Scare or of Ike's signing the order. Keep reading.
  15. Thank you Merkin and Trab. Merkin, do you literally mean you were contemporary to the time and place? If so, please email me. Alan
  16. Thanks so much for writing. I too am glad you persisted. Alan
  17. Interesting. Yes, often what we write is ambiguous.
  18. Thank you both for you comments. I'm glad you liked the story. I guess it hasn't made it to my list yet. Trab, thank you for your comment about the last paragraph. You are probably right.
  19. I have a new short story to be posted on Saturday. It's the tale of a boy who develops crushes on other boys but who finally realizes how shallow those crushes are.
  20. New story, called "Flipping the Coin" Coming this weekend. It's the story of two boys, one very well off and the other confused and abused. 12 Chapters
  21. Thank you all for your comments. AD Author, I think I did think of the whole story as a flashback. Certainly, he was talking about the past. But I do admit I have troubles ending stories. When I posted "Unfinished Symphony" several people wanted to know what happened next. In fact, I tried to write a sequel but could never make it work. Anyway, I do thank you for writing and will certainly keep your thoughtful comments in mind.
  22. Thank you so much, Cole. I was a little afraid that readers might be put off by the first chapter. I hope that won't happen. There are 13 chapters altogether. Thanks again.
