The Moor by Solsticeman

Too early to tell what might be presented in this story, but we have been given clues that this is about the journey of a boy into manhood. Italy, late 1930's, what a difficult time for the poor people of that country.

But Solsticeman is also presenting us with a gallery of images from that era, photographs taken by the renowned, some might say infamous, Baron Wilhelm von Gloeden. His photos of youth and young men from southern Italy and Sicily show us the African heritage many of them share. A rare look at beauty from so long ago...sigh.

Ahem, now back to the story and Solsticeman's young sheep herder. Looking forward to further chapters.

Growing up, I would have found Solsticeman's version of purity an awfully lot easier to deal with.
