The Leicester LGBT History Project has been running for the last three years collecting oral history from the LGBT community in Leicester. Today the funded project officially came to an end and the results of the project made public. One aspect of this is a website on which all the non-restricted oral histories are going to be put so they can be accessed directly. Eventually there will be over a hundred histories on the site.

Some of these accounts are quite astonishing. I've only just begun to dig into them, but the tales I've read or listened to so far exceed the twists and turns we tend to find in our own fiction.

Anybody who has not listened to any of these stories is missing a real treat, they give one an insight into area of LGBT life that is not often talked about. A site well worth going to.
