Chris James
....stupid enough that I almost didn't mention it, but it is so absurd and funny when you consider the source. FYI: the congressman in question owns an energy company. http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/07/03/1311565/-Missouri-Republican-Climate-change-unproven-because-temperature-on-Mars-is-exactly-as-it-is-here# Link to comment
Cole Parker
I can hardly believe that! Are you sure it wasn't a parody? Can someone really be that out of touch with reality? Link to comment
Addym Kehris
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is proof of the average intelligence of our elected officials. We are in such good hands, wouldn't you say? The saying is Kill all the Lawyers. It's not the lawyers we need to worry about. Link to comment
Guest Dabeagle
Except that a high number of lawyers are politicians. Ergo, it's like a two for one sale... Link to comment
Camy
Mars is a harsh, cold world. It is much colder than Earth; but then, it is also farther from the sun. The small, barren planet also has a thin atmosphere that is 95 percent carbon dioxide. Mars's atmosphere is about 100 times thinner than Earth's. Without a "thermal blanket," Mars can't retain any heat energy. On average, the temperature on Mars is about minus 80 degrees F (minus 60 degrees C). http://www.space.com/16907-what-is-the-temperature-of-mars.html Link to comment
DesDownunder
I don't know about him going to Mars, but he is certainly "off the planet." What's worrying is that many people actually will be convinced by his ignorance and vote for the Tea Party-GOP come November. Link to comment
