Saw that.  Heartwarming act of compassion and understanding.  Those boys are under great pressure and to see such an act of sportsmanship in present-day America is beyond uplifting.

I was watching the game when it happened.  The kid on the mound was breaking up, very emotional.  For the kid that was hit to go out to console him was the kind of gesture you sometimes see in sports, but not all that often.  Very heartwarming.

So now, who's gonna write the short story about this?

I can see it already. Gay and out pitcher.  Bi, closeted, and questioning batter. First meeting, lots of parental pressure with regards to baseball, it almost writes itself!

But, it needs someone who knows the game better than I do. I like and watch baseball, but I've never played it, even as a kid, so doubt I could do it justice.

That scene brought tears to our eyes when my 13-year-old grandson and I watched it on the evening news.
