Jeff Ellis
Truly brilliant... a jewel. I don't often come across a story that means quite as much to me as this one did. It struck to the heart at a number of levels. Perhaps the most obvious was that at 15, 5'10", 100lbs and a schoolboy I was the Edward in our mining village's Friday night dojo... the others were miners and steelworkers. It had been my father's idea to enrol... perhaps the best idea he ever had. My Aiden? I caught him just the once in combat... a perfectly executed tai otoshi... his reaction lacked grace. Thank you Bi-janus... I dont expect you intended to make anyone cry Quote Link to comment
Lugnutz
Great job. I like some of the martial arts stories and this one tops the pile. A story where you also learn something. Quote Link to comment

Merkin
A story becomes wonderful, more than words on paper, when it makes the reader feel that it goes on, carrying the lives it depicts forward through the continuing imagination of the reader. This story is one of those. Quote Link to comment
